Markfield Open Access won the Weird & Wonderful award at the London Adventure Playground Awards last October.
A group of children, regulars at our Saturday Open Access sessions, attended the awards ceremony accompanied by our Family Team manager, Ian Mccarthy and the Open Access lead, Dominique Wicks.
After the award ceremony Dom Wicks said: “What a great achievement and a fabulous day out for our young people! A big thanks to London Play for a great fun awards ceremony. We are so proud of the play that goes on every day at Markfield so it’s great to be able to show it off.”
“Weird & wonderful is a proud badge for any great adventure playground. Kudos to The Markfield Project for outdoing the rest of the field in that category at the #LondonAdventurePlayAwards with their elaborate epic film in which Spongebob rose from the dead – more than once!” – London Play on X (former Twitter).
What a great achievement indeed – The Markfield team are all very proud!
Hope you can join us at our Open Access sessions, most Saturdays from 11am to 3 pm throughout the year.
