On the last day of August, towards the end of the summer holidays, a number of Markfield families and volunteer befrienders set off to the seaside.
Broadstairs, on the Kent coast, was a great choice – it has safe, sandy beaches, great ice cream, and even though the sea was a bit chilly, the sky was blue, the sun was shining and everyone had a great time, splashing, swimming, making sandcastles, eating, meeting other families and relaxing together on the beach and on the coach journey.
