This October we celebrated being at the Markfield centre for 30 years. In 1986 Diana Princess of Wales opened the building! It was great to come together at our Annual General Meeting and Open Day to share our memories of Markfield.
The Open Day on Saturday 8th October was attended by lots of families and Markfield members, as well as some new visitors. We had lots of play activities, food and music. At the Annual General Meeting Markfield’s Executive committee Chair Dee Kushlick Williams presented the Annual report for 2015 to 2016 which gives an overview of the services, developments and financial accounts for the year. We also introduced the new Markfield strategic plan for the next 5 years which has been developed based on consultation with our members, trustees, staff, volunteers and partners. The strategic plan presents Markfield’s mission, purpose and values as well as our key goals for the next 5 years.
The Open day was particularly special because we were celebrating 30 years at the Markfield centre. We heard and collected memories from members and displayed photographs from when the building as first opened and lots of the fun we have had since then!
