The Jack Petchey Foundation award scheme is a reward and recognition initiative which enables schools and youth organisations to celebrate the achievements of their young people as well as receive additional funding.

“We do it because we want to help young people raise their aspirations, believe in themselves and make a contribution to their society” said Sir Jack Petchey CBE.

11 year old Osazee has been given an outstanding achievement award.
Osazee used to always be brought to Markfield by his mum, as he was he unable to cope with the bus journey specifically the waiting element, due to his disabiity. Since September Osazee has been able to travel on the mini-bus to and from Markfield without any problems. This is a huge step forward for him. He has also been extremely helpful on the bus assisting the escort, letting them know when everybody is on the bus, so it can leave. On the sessions Osazee is much calmer now, and articulates his needs to staff rather than getting upset. He has also been able to be more patient when waiting for activities to start on the session.
